Our first discussin on Marxism was very interesting. I thought it was interesting to learn that he wrote most of his manuscripts for himself. It gives me a different outlook on what I read. It makes me wonder if any of the missing parts to his manuscripts are really significant or not. It is something that we wont ever know.
Also, I thought it was interesting how he critiqued religion. I thought it was interesting how he compared the Earthly Family to the Holy Family. It showed his religous views in an interesting way. Lastly, I loved how Feuerbach influenced Marx. It makes his Thesis XI more meaningful to me. Through him influencing Marx, it shows how "The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to change it." (Marx) Marx using Feuerbach as a way to explore his own points of view shows how important it is for philosophers and other people alike to use other people's views as a "springboard" to discover your own views. I look forward to discussing this more.
