Pamela Rice's "101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian" were not very convincing to me. Yes, I do believe that her points are correct. However, most of her reasons have to do with the conditions of the slaughterhouses and how the animals are treated. I believe that she should of focused more on the health benefits which were more convincing. Also, I wish that Rice had pictures to prove her reasoning for being a vegetarian. Why did she have pictures from her "101 Reasons Why I'm a Vegetarian" and not have pictures of the conditions of the slaughterhouses? In my opinion, the pictures of the conditions of the slaughterhouses would be more valuable to her argument than the pictures she actually has.
The only one that was non-medical that was convincing to me was #49. #49 talked about how cyanide is used to explode coral reefs and in order to obtain fish. I think this is wrong for two reasons-- #1 It poisons the fish and #2 This has caused 20% of the coral reefs in the world to be lost. I am personally biased to this since I did a project of coral reefs last semester and how they are being destroyed to obtain fish. I don't think an extremity such as this should be used to obtain fish.
